Netflix Prize: Forum

We expected many researchers would be interested in the dataset for academic research purposes beyond the Prize.  You are welcome to use the dataset for your research.  However, you'll still have to register and acknowledge the Prize rules to access the data (whether you submit predictions or not) and you must follow the constraints on such things as non-commerical use of the data, referencing the source of the data, and the like that are contained in the README in the download and now posted on the Forum (http://www.netflixprize.com/community/v … .php?id=68).  As long as you follow them, we wish you good luck in your research!
