When we learned that members of the team Pragmatic Theory reside in Quebec we reviewed the contest residency requirements, which stated that Quebec residents were ineligible to participate. We have determined that Quebec residents are, in fact, eligible to participate. To reflect this decision we have removed the sentence "Residents of the province of Quebec in Canada are ineligible to participate" from the Rules and we have updated the FAQ.

Woot. Happy, as I too moved in Quebec recently.

Why was there that limitation to begin with?

They thought Québec laws forbid money games, or foreign competition to win money, something like that.

Quebec has other reasons (http://www.google.com/search?q=quebec+sweepstakes).
Residents of the province of Quebec in Canada are ineligible to participate. Residents of Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Sudan are also ineligible to participate. The Contest is void in these countries and where prohibited or restricted by law. Netflix reserves the right to limit, or restrict upon notice, participation in the Contest to any person at any time for any reason.

We would like to thank Netflix publicly for reconsidering the status of Quebec participants. We fully appreciate the time and efforts required on the part of Netflix to do so.
